The earliest known Crokinole board was made by the craftsman, Eckhardt Wettlaufer in 1876 in Perth County, Ontario, Canada, which has made this a popular game for the Canadians. It is believed to be of Amish origins, though this has never been proven. The oldest roots of Crokinole come from the 1860's and suggest that the British and South Asian games are the most likely antecedents of what became Crokinole.
